Edge computing: This is a new era after cloud computing. Edge computing is basically used to overcome the latency caused by the cloud computing platforms. It is going to emerge as IoT and other data increases. The name ‘Edge computing’ means a distributed computing environment where the computing takes place at the edge location where the nodes or smart devices exist. It is a different way of computing instead of centralized processing in a typical cloud environment. Edge computing is much more relevant in case of IOT devices, which are basically edge devices in a network. Now, the problem is – in a traditional way, IoT devices captures data and send it back to a central location for processing. It causes a lot of traffic load and latency in processing.
So, we can imagine of a solution, where the processing (partly) can be done at the device edge only. After that it can be transferred back (partly/totally) to the central location. This can be achieved by having a local device (near the edge device) with compute, storage and network capability. So, the data is processed at the edge and transferred back. Edge computing will bring efficiency and better response time.
Blockchain: Blockchain platform is going to be a big thing in 2019.Its distributed ledger technology will touch every business and evolve significantly. In this distributed ledger, each block is connected with each other. So, a block contains cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data. Blockchain is managed by peer-to-peer network and these blocks cannot be modified easily. Blockchain is a distributed ledger which is immutable and cannot be modified by a single person. It does not have any single point of failure also. So, the points to remember are

The pairing between these two entities will help us to analyse data, monitor data and show new opportunities.
